New endeavours for 2 Islanders players

We love supporting our players – on and off the ice – so it’s with great pride that we announce that Chris Stoddart has written a book (“Life in the fast lane“) and Rob Jeffrey has started a new clothing line: Mobility Club Wear!

Chris has taken this season off to finish and promote his book, which chronicles his personal history in adapted sports – spanning 6 decades – and the evolution of wheelchair racing. eBook and print copies are available through several major online retailers, but if you would like a signed copy, you can reach out to Chris through the contact section of his website and request one.

Rob started Mobility Club Wear to give back to the community (10 % of clothing sales go to The War Amps). He has designed a collection of t-shirts & hoodies, emblazoned with funny and inspirational messages, plus some Islanders merch as well. Click ‘shop’ on his website or ours and scroll to the bottom to see our current & M logo designs (purchases can be customized through the shop portal)!

New team sponsor

We are proud to welcome our newest sponsor Exterior Technologies Group to the Islanders Sledge Hockey family! Their generosity will allow us to send 2 teams to this year’s London Blizzard Tournament and update some of our equipment, as we continue to grow our club and raise the profile of our sport in the community. Thank you ETG!

Players & Volunteers Wanted

The Islanders are always on the lookout for new players, volunteers & sponsors. Check out our information page below and reach out via our contact form or social media, if you’re interested in joining us for the upcoming season!

Silver lining to the 2021/2022 Season

The Islanders went into Champions Weekend as the #3 seed of the Intermediate C division and came up with a big 3-0 victory over #2 Niagara, on semi-final Saturday. But they were unable to topple the undefeated #1 team Kawartha in the finals – falling 4-2, in a hard-fought game for the division title.

With 2 silver medals so far this season, the team will now focus on going for gold at the Ontario Parasport Games (May 13-15, in Mississauga)!

November to remember

On the heels of a best-ever, silver medal performance at the Cruisers Cup, the Islanders won their first two games of the regular season by identical 4-1 scores, over Northumberland and Hamilton!

The team will look to extend their winning streak in December, when they visit Elmvale and Kawartha.

Another “try sledge” event is happening this Saturday!

We are once again partnering with the Children’s Treatment Network to host a “Try Sledge” event, on December 14th, from 11am-12pm. New players of ALL ages and abilities are welcome to come out and give it a try (no previous experience necessary).

Please help us spread the word and grow our sport! Contact information and details are provided below.
